Priests estate etc When some priests die prematurely or otherwise, there are often fights amongst the legal heirs (brothers/sisters etc) for the huge estate left behind by the deceased. Should there be a case like this, I feel, the church should take over such ill-gotten wealth etc which got amassed after becoming the priest. Be it from the foreign trips, business or some donations that are unaccounted for. Priesthood is not a profession or a business entity. They should not own huge bank balances, properties (Land. Buildings etc) other than their share in the ancestral property. Priests are supposed to be next to God but when was the last time we heard of a saintly priest after Venerable Agnelo D’Souza that’s about 86 years ago? ‘ami sogle nitoll nant’ and that’s includes Godmen.
