Britto's OBA plans career guidance, quiz, sports and Xmas Dance MAPUSA, July 29: The Britto's OBA held its seventh annual general body meeting and fourth biennial elections to the managing committee for 2013-15 and to the internal auditors on the weekend, at the St. Britto High School, Mapusa, followed by a family get-together.
Plans chalked out include career guidance for SSC students (talks by past pupils) between August 12-14, an inter-school Quiz Quest around late September, a football march between the school and staff and old boys, and the traditional x'mas dance held each year at Parra for the last six years. Minutes of the earlier AGM (held on August 11, 2012) were read out and approved. Accounts were presented by treasurer BOB Max Cordeiro. Nine members were elected unopposed to the managing committee for 2013-2015: Charles de Souza (1977 batch); Miguel Braganza (1976); Cesar Cabral (1981); Elvidio D'Souza (1983); Ryan Carvalho (1989); Martin Carrasco (1991); Max Cordeiro (1994); Chalmer John de Souza (1999) Johan Braganca (2005). Internal auditors BOB Aloysius D'Souza and Michael D'Silva were appointed. Earlier, BOB president Jose L. D'Souza called the meeting to order after observing one-minute silence in memory of Head Mistress Jacinta Fernandes, wife of member BOB Kevin Fernandes and sister-in-law of founder vice-president BOB Fr. Cecil Fernandes SJ and Headmaster/Principal BOB Fr. Cedric Fernandes SJ. She died of a tragic road accident on 01 July, 2013 at the outskirts of Mapusa on the Siolim road.
