Vasco Saptak (as we called it) always reminds me of hot-hot jelebies prepared on site. Believe me or not, it was just 15 paise a plate now don't ask me what year it was. People form out place, all Catholics, used to hire one or two buses which would leave around 8pm and back by 5 or 6am. There were some floats moving in the middle of the night in the pick-up van or trucks carrying various gods and deities or Par or Paro and they were in the procession chanting like Janoba Tukaram etc
Since long time now, I have not been to this night time event. The 7 day fair was mainly of furniture, Coper /brass/aluminium pots /utensils, toys (Perni), eatables like Jelebies, Khajem, Chonne etc. We did not have readymade plastic items, readymade garments etc which we see now which constitute 80% of the present day fair.
