Politicians or would-be politicians like to remain silent when certain questions are asked relating to their parties. Making big noises in cyberspace doesn't translate into votes at the ground level.
The Congress and the BJP has overseas support groups. I remember covering the launch of Friends of the BJP in Toronto which was inaugurated by LK Advani. The Goa Su-Raaj Party. I believe, has a representative in Toronto. I am also told it has a representative in England and, hence, wanted Floriano to name the person so that we know it's official. Isn't it simple to tell us this person's name? What's the reason to hide it? Floriano was thankful to me for giving him an opportunity to clarify the "Raaj" part. In return I thank him for spelling it out, though unconvincingly. As general secretary/spokesperson, he shouldn't hold back the name of the UK representative. Or, deny if there isn't any representative. A party that projects a clean image of itself shouldn't shy away from letting the people on this forum know the person's name. I'm just surprised why Floriano is withholding the information. Eugene Correia
