Eugene is right on the premise that St Catherine is the patron saint of Goa but he is wrong in his portrayal of Padre Jose Vaz who is only beatified as yet and not yet elevated to sainthood and may never be. But all Goans have the notion that St Francis Xavier by virtue of his internment in Goa is presumptiously regarded as the patron saint of Goa.
