The Se Cathedral bell, cast in situ, is, I've always been told, is argentine,
cast
in appropriated Goan silver.

The late Patron(ess) of Goa is St. Catherine of Alexandria, of the cart-wheels
fame. It being her feast-day when Afonso de Albuquerque landed his contigent,
he dedicated the Cathedral in her honour.

Also, I believe, Blessed Jose Vaz has been Vatican-bulled(?) as,current, Patron
Saint of Goa.

Being not canonized is no hurdle for such nomination....beatification
signifying full
bestowal of sainthood. Thus the Bl. is a saint(elec), in its full contonation,
except that
the date to formalize the event has not, yet, been arrived upon (due mostly to
pragmatic
socio-political conditions obtaining in his/her land).

Thus the reason for Blessed Rudolf Aquaviva & his fellow jesuits, allegedly
martyred in Cuncolim,
languishing, in canonical limbo, these past four plus centuries.

Post-beatification miracle, according to a Jesuit, knowlegable in the
intricacies of hagiology
is more a reforcement of the original proposition.

Whereas, a venerated aspirant to sainthood is cleared for just that:
veneration. Prayers may
be directed him for his intercession and, mostly, in the region he is held up
in, his cult is held high.

Chacha....a possible aspirant
