The Goa Su-Raj Party very strongly condemns the arbitrary arrest of the
famous, outspoken, and fearless Tiatr Artist Francis de Tuem on a trumped up
charges of defamation and extortion. If we are in a democratic set-up, no
one can be arrested for defamation or extortion unless and until thorough
irrefutable evidence in black and white of such actions are in hand. This
Party does not believe that Goa is anywhere close to a democratic set-up
with the present dictatorial government of Manohar Parrikar, where people's
basic democratic rights are being trampled upon in a very arbitrary and
casual manner. On the one hand the Police get the barging publicly by a
Government Minister when they go about doing their duties. But on the other
hand the Police becomes the handmaid of the politicians who's criminal
antecedents is known to one an all.
Goa must rise up as one against this open slap on Francis de Tuem's
democratic rights by trying to humiliate him through this trumped up arrest
by corrupt and criminal minded politicians hoping to force him to shut his
mouth to their black deeds. And we GOANS very well know of what stuff our
Francis de Tuem is made up of, that this arrest will have made him go all
out for these black sheep in time to come. It could even be the GOAN
REVOLUTION that we have been waiting for.

Not long ago, another thorn in the flesh in Sebastian Rodrigues was sought
to be put out through bringing in anti-Naxalite Act in Goa which failed
miserably to give relief to the Mining Mafia, who then slapped a 500 crore
defamation suit on him in a Kolkata Court which came to naught.

In the end, Sebastian Rodrigues et al had the last laugh when the 'Shah
Commission' not only took the MINING MAFIA out, but also put them on the
roads where some of them, including of Goa's political Mafiosi may land in
Aguada jail in good time.
