The Goa Su-Raj Party congratulates Goan sportsmen/women and their parents
for objecting to the Goa Athletic Association's decision of wanting to
promote non-Goan athletes in the Lusofonia Games to be staged at Goa.
Foremost, the Goa Athletic Association must know the meaning of LUSOFONIA.
These games are meant for the country known as Portugal and its colonies,
provinces et al, throughout the world. As such, as regard these games in
Goa, only the athletes and sportsmen/women from Goa and/or of Goan origin,
from Dadra and Nagar Aveli and Daman and Diu are eligible to take part in
these games and no one else. The representation should be 100 per cent and
not 50 per cent as is decided by this Association. If at all best
international standard level athletes from Goa are not available, chance
should be give to the second best, but not have these games diluted. India
has shown to the world that it is a maha-corrupt nation, even when it comes
to sports. One has to just take a look at the conduct of the Common Wealth
Games in Delhi last, and the Cricket mess that India has found itself in.
Even the most favorite 'hockey' is not free from corruption and corrupted
minds. The standard of this particular game has been severely affected as a
result.
GOAN athletes will do well to boycott the LUSOFONIA GAMES in Goa in toto if
one hundred per cent participation of Goans and of Goan Origin athletes is
sought to be diluted. This is the onliest way to teach the Goa Athletic
Association and it's incompetent members a good lesson in SPORTS.
