*Meet Peter Barbosa at TAG’s Meet The Artiste on 30th Sept.* *Pedro Ciriaco Barbosa* popularly known as *Peter Barbosa* on the tiatr stage will be the Artiste of the month at Tiatr academy’s monthly program ’Meet the Artiste’ to be held on Monday, 30 th September 2013 at 4:00 p.m at TAG’s Conference Hall, Campal Trade Centre, campal, Panaji-Goa. A writer, director, lyricist and actor Barbosa’s contribution to the growth and development of tiatr for over five decades is commendable. Peter penned down his first tiatr *‘Rogtache Bhau’* which was staged on 28thNovember 1958 in his own village at Cujira waddo in St. Cruz. Barbosa has written over 50 tiatrs some of which are *‘Resperadis’, ‘Vot ani Saulli’, ‘Ek Jevonn’,‘Adhar’, Rupkar, ‘Asro’,’Moriad Naslolem’,’Tiklem’, ‘Poilo Pagar’,* etc. Besides this in his own village 3 passion plays ‘*Ecce Homo, ‘Sorvondar Mello’* and *‘ Via Dolorosa’* presented by the Parish on huge stages of about 100 mtrs for which Barbosa has rendered his help for writing of lyrics, assisted in the script and has directed these plays besides also directing a Lenten tiatr *“Bavartachem Poyn”.* Directorate of Art and Culture has also recognized the contribution of Shri. Peter Barbosa to the tiatr stage and in recognition to his services has bestowed upon him the prestigious *‘kala Gaurav Award’* which was presented at the hands of shri.
