There was no co-ordination between the Police and the Army.
Apparently the first Police and some vigilantes managed to corner the gunmen into one corner of the building - enter the Army who took over and this allowed the gun men ti disperse and move to all parts of the Mall. I was watching CNN and a Shelina Popat stated that Kenya is not safe any more, to add insult to injury the USA has issued a travel advisory. Three floors were deliberately destroyed by the Army, ostensibly because they did not want to engage the gunmen. This resulted in the loss of life of many hostages as well. God help Kenya and the people - if one is taken hostage, it would be safe to say, they wouldn't make it! Either get killed by the hostage takers or by the Security personnel.
