Every Thursday all three series of the Goa gazettes were being regularly uploaded on the Goa Government Printing Press website and one could read them at home until 4th July this year when we were told that the website was allegedly hacked.
Is it not an irony that for over three long months this government has been grossly incapable to restore this much vital website despite bragging of being leading in e-governance? The public wanting to read these gazettes have to now go to the Central library at Patto Plaza where they have to bear with the awful disgusting odor of garbage. Ignorance of law is no excuse, but non publication of the Official Gazette on the website is uncondonable The Government should move swiftly and restore this facility especially keeping in mind the interest of the Senior citizens and those physically challenged. Not forgetting the Goans across the globe who can keep themselves updated with the gazette notifications. That the mandate of the RTI Act is to make information available freely on the internet should not be lost sight of by the Government.
