The second lecture in the Festival of Gandhian Ideas will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Arun Kumar on Saturday, October 12th 2013 at 5.00 p.m. at the Don Bosco High School Hall, Panjim, Goa. Prof Arun Kumar, Ph.D.,who holds the Sukhamoy Chakravarti Chair in the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, will present Gandhiji's views on Economics, Industry, Trade and Commerce. He is the author of several books including "The Black Economy in India" (Penguin Books), "Challenges Facing Indian Universities", and "Indian Economy Since Independence" (Vision Books, 2013). The Festival of Gandhian Ideas is promoted by the Council For Social Justice and Peace of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, and Peaceful Society, Madkai. The purpose of this Festival of Ideas is to rediscover the teachings of the Mahatma on important aspects of life in modern day India. The lectures are open to all, and students, specially, are encouraged to attend.
