Dear Daryl :
Interesting piece. However, to set the record straight, I hasten to point out that it was the Entebbe Goan Institute that was the one established on April 24, 1905, by 30 Goans who paid one half of their monthly incomes as an Entrance Fee, and certainly not the Kampala Goan Institute which was only founded on June 26,1910, by 17 Goans. Your source got his facts mixed up.
For confirmation, I refer you to website :egi-reunion.com.
(Incidentally, I happened to be the General Secretary of the E.G.I. when it celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1955.) My friend, Fred Noronha, may deem it expedient to rectify matters on his website.
Regards to all.
