Folks,
Since there has been a lot of interest in the East African Goan lately, here is
a video made by some Germans (I believe) in which the architect shares a
thought or two on the ideas he had when designing the building.

Anthony B. Almeida must be in his 90's now.

A fascinating comment he makes, and I will paraphrase here, "Goans were middle
class workers in the civil service and banks then. With this club house they
had the facility to invite their bosses to come see how they lived."

Take a look at the video folks. This was an ultra modern building when it
opened in 1958. I have not seen a better Goan club house anywhere else in the
world. In my almost biased view, the Nairobi Institute comes in a close second.
