No! It causes more problems being there than if it's removed. I think it
should be removed. Didn't we hae a discussion about this some time ago?
I recall of a not-so-small base of machines I had to disable acpi in
order to boot. How are distributions such as Ubuntu handling this kind
of parameters? Do they have more than one entry at their bootloader,
or do they just ignore acpi-related problems and go on with acpi=on?
By the way, my girlfriend's laptop didn't have its wireless card
recognized without acpi support enabled..
