That's somewhat valid points, but only if one uses meta recipes like
they are used today. But I still think that sub recipes should have
dependencies included. Before I was aware that I updated an old
version I redid the entire Xorg recipe and even if it took me one days
work I still believe that this is the way to go.

To reply to the message you are refering to (as that is to old to
reply to itself), my approach would rather be to have the dependencies
in the sub recipes and when compiling the meta recipe all recipes
would be downloaded first and their dependencies merged.
