On November 18 2006 I was checking out union fs's (downloading and
compiling the sources to the userspace ones), and wrote:

- - unionfs-fuse pays NO ATTENTION AT ALL to permissions (at least
    if it's running as root)
- - funionfs doesn't seem to work (union with /, and it's empty)
"Modifying a Unionfs branch directly, while the union is mounted is cur?
       rently unsupported.  Any such change can cause Unionfs to oops,
however
       it could even RESULT IN DATA LOSS."

So I gave up on what I was thinking of doing with a union fs at that time.
