Further explanation of how things are right now (and, more or less, how I 
think it should be): if you don't want to use a particular implementation of 
a generic, you can just take it out of the list in GenericFlags.conf; you can 
also disable the generic flag if you just don't want to use it; or you can 
enable the flag for another implementation.

In my view, if you have the generic flag enabled, you're asking to have 
whatever support it can provide turned on, and the reason they're 
configurable is to allow you to select where you want that support to come 
from and with what precedence.
