You are absolutely correct except for the RAMdisk stuff which is an old abandoned project.
The main difference between Gnuppix and Gobolinux appdirs is (as I see it) that gnuppix appdirs are more "standalone" for good and bad.. Appdirs are used for all applications in Gnuppix, both system and user. And yes, I'm guilty of having created the Upix appdirs and packaging system.
