I have definitely decided to the later layout for the GotoLinux project. I've started to work in here:

Yesterday I partially converted my Debian box over to use it. bin -> /user/all/bin etc -> /user/all/etc root -> /user/root/home sbin -> /user/root/bin var -> /user/all/var I created a separate project for it: https://github.com/openbohemians/fhs2
