Almost successful install for me :

 - No ACPI error ;
 - Debian is well detected by os-prober
- Sound settings config failed (maybe some tweaks will do the trick, must
try) ;

Maybe you can add "dhcpcd eth0 &" in config file or something else because
this is the first thing to do after install, but I you don't have a
networkable PC you are stuck.

In awesome :

- Manual sub-entry display a screen with an error : too quick to read it ;
 - Restart do nothing.

Compile MC is fine but Compile XFE failed with LibFox.

I have posted a new revision of the Fox recipe (1.6.51 r2). Please remove your installation of Fox and try again with the new recipe and let me know
if it works. The difference this time is that you should have a
/Programs/Fox/1.6.51/include/fox-1.6/ directory packed with files --
currently that directory is likely empty on your machine.

Thanks,
Lucas

@Lucas

Hi Lucas,

I have booted the new iso
and evaluated my own 'upgrades'.

I did _not_ install the iso because I updated several Programs and
translated some in Dutch Language.
By the way nL_NL.UTF-8 is somehow not 'persistent'.

Maybe I can send some 'translations' as a contribution ?

My 'Data' attached below.
To be continued ...

That's it - for now,

Greetings,

From 'Holland',

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Some answers to your questions and notes:

*>* (1) Boot -> mounts in fstab don't get mounted

On the LiveCD we don't follow fstab very strictly. But it should work on the installed system, as long as you don't have the "noauto" flag on fstab

It didn't.

Setting hostname to Triskelion...
But all _logfiles_ give (none) as HostName

I guess we have never really paid much attention to the BootScripts logs.
That's certainly harmless, as the hostname is correctly set by the time
you're given a shell.

It's not acute.
Only remarkable ...;)

Hisham, would you know what could be at play here?

Kernel - "messages" : Command_Not_Found:SetFont ( Thursday 09 March 2017
-> using the Slack 'theme' )

Hmm. SetFont is a function defined on BootScripts/Functions/ConsoleToolkit. Our themes "source" that file and should be able to handle it just fine.

Only the 'Slack Theme' doesn't.
Which was the one I was using
because of 'debugging'.

--->

root@Triskelion ~]grep -R ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/Progress-III:source ${BootScriptsDir}/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/GoboLinux016:source $BootScriptsDir/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/CheckList:source "$BootScriptsDir/Functions/ConsoleToolkit" /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/AppleII:. $BootScriptsDir/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/SplitScreen:source /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/ScanDisk:source $BootScriptsDir/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/Progress-IV:source ${BootScriptsDir}/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/Progress:source $BootScriptsDir/Functions/ConsoleToolkit /Programs/BootScripts/Current/Themes/Progress-II:source $BootScriptsDir/Functions/ConsoleToolkit

Hisham, could you take a look when you have a chance?

Rebooting takes a lot of time ...
Either with 'reboot' or 'shutdown -r now'.
More than two minutes ... ?

Do you have any special program(s) running when you attempt to reboot? Do
you face a similar delay when rebooting right after login?

No, not at that time.
And I can't find the culprit.
Yet.

By the way I'd like to know
some more about the 'boot logic'
( init inttab BootUp ).
Udev is called quite early
then the kernel
procedes and then the Scripts.

I was trying to get a logfile
from all of the Scripts / Tasks
like so:

export DEBUG=1

-- BootDriver --

 if [ -n "$DEBUG" ]
 then
  export PS4='+ [${BASH_SOURCE##*/}:${LINENO}] '
  set -x
 fi

Compile -> still missing headers when using Freshen ?

Did Freshen pick Compile 016.01 and Scripts 016.01? If not, please manually
update them first.

I did. And removed 016's.

Michael, does Freshen attempt to update Compile/Scripts prior to going
through the list of updates?

While using GoboLinux-016.01-alpha-x86_64.iso:
Missing Gobonet ? in the upper region. No wifi ?

Indeed -- I have just noticed the same. I'll check what's going on.

Thanks for the review!

You're Welcome :)
