I've recently been wanting to create more interfaces to god. This weekend I had the chance to do so. I created a jabber interface. To do so I abstracted the commands interface to something I called "prophet." I then refactored the CLI interface to use prophet and added a jabber interface as well. I also refactored the jabber contact code to use the running jabber agent (if it exists).
The idea is to create a way of talking to god through many different interfaces (IRC, Campfire, Twitter, Jabber, etc) without having to create a bot that shells out to do so.
