I'm experiencing this exact same issue on a customer's server. God
exits immediately with an exit code of 0 when *not* passing the -D
switch on the latest version of Ruby Enterprise Edition
(1.8.6-20090421) on Ubuntu 8.10.

Haven't had a chance to get the test suite running on that box, but
that's on the list for today.
