Hi all- I've got a very tight reproducible bug, but I am not exactly sure how to fix it:

I am a very experienced programmer/debugger but I don't know the ruby tooling and cannot figure out how the pid is getting munged incorrectly. If anyone thinks they might be able to assist and would be willing to screen share for a few minutes sometime I'd appreciate it. I've tried monit, god, runit, and so far god is the most robust and configurable but this particular bug causes it to false-positive on me ~10x a day which is thrashing the server a bit and also sending me lots of nonsense warnings...
