I suppose it would only embarrass myself if I said that during the first few days, although I was far behind any of the leaders, I was quite pleased with the fact that I was still ahead of `/anick. But I would never have been so bold as to -say- so to anyone. Yes, even I had my private hopes of beating him, but alas, it was not to be.
