While I am curious why you would want to use the feed search  
functionality if you already have the url of the feed you're wanting,  
it is possible to do this.  I ran a feed search for "http://www.nytimes.com 
  +16stimulus.html" (without the quotation marks) and returned a  
number of results.  If you are wanting feeds only from nytimes.com,  
you could add "site:" (again, without the quotation marks) directly in  
front of http://www.nytimes.com
