Can anyone suggest a method/tool which returns the number of pages found by Google (or Yahoo, or...) in a given language (eg French), and a given country (eg Canada, .CA) ?
I tried Google search "avoir site:.ca" whcih returned about 7,950,000. BUT I want to repeat this for each Top Level Domain, to map the usage of French on the Web country by country. And I'd like to do the same for other languages, eg Arabic and Hungarian. Is there a tool whcih can do this? I know about BootCat J-Bootcat, WeBoCa etc whcih trawl a Corpus from the WWW, but I don't want the contents of matched web-pages, I just want the number, to compare relative size of French web-usage in each country. Would be handy if it were possible to then save these hits in a flatfile somewhere?
