Hi, I would not waste my time trying to submit them to search engine add urls, instead with blogs they have a more useful ability of blog pings. This service pings the spiders and they will come index your site. This will not get you in the main Google web search but it is a very good (and IMHO) more effective way to get there. Once they are in the Blog search they should get picked up by other search engines and others viewing them and I find it happens faster that way then just submitting your url.
Also, another tip is to use Feedburner to syndicate your feed content as they have a service to ping other engines also and it should happen a lot faster. But ultimately the main key is content, if you don't have anything people want to see or read then you will plummet to the bottom of the results list so I would suggest you have great content and interesting blog articles and the rest will happen from there. Once sites start linking to your pages and blog then when their sites get spidered they will follow the links to your site/blog. Also, note that Googles main web index does not update as frequently as the blog searches do so it still may take a month maybe more or less before Google refreshes their main web index and you start seeing the results there. Cheers!
