I could be wrong on this - Google isn't exactly forthcoming on how their indexing, etc., works - but I believe that there are two primary ways that a feed is indexed into the findFeeds system. The first is that Googlebot, their spider, takes note of feeds that are linked to from sites and pages that it crawls. And the second is that someone uses them with Feedfetcher or the Feeds API. The thing that I would recommend is that, if you're just using your own feed, there's no real need to use the findFeed functionality; just include your feed directly. If you're trying to encourage others to use your feed by having it pushed up the findFeed rankings, I would guess - again, I have no firsthand knowledge of Google's ranking algorithms, etc. - that you could do so by increasing its popularity, i.e., monitoring it on Google Reader, using it with the Feeds API, encouraging others to link to your site and feed, etc.
