You can do all of the above with a some basic HTML and Javascript. For the search hot spots - the links or other dom elements you want to click to execute searches - simply assign onclick listeners that will execute the appropriate query. For the custom form, you have only to code the form you want in html (or Javascript) and add an onsubmit listener which will initiate the search. If you don't know how to do any of these things, I would recommend searching Google for some tutorials and reference material. It shouldn't be too difficult to learn what you need.
