Using the AJAX Search API does not affect the lag between the time that you post the new or updated pages and when they actually appear in the search results. That delay will vary in duration depending on how many resources link to your new content and how often Googlebot crawls your site. Probably the best way to influence this lag would be to utilize Google Webmaster Tools and roll an updated sitemap. 2. How can I index local files? This is not possible with the AJAX Search API or any Google resource other than Google Desktop. Google Desktop allows YOU to search your local files, but doesn't make those files available to the rest of the world. Jeremy R.
