Just to clarify, the only limit placed on the Google AJAX Search API  
is that you can retrieve a maximum of 64 results (8 results x 8 pages)  
for any search.

It should be noted that at least the Yahoo! BOSS API has a limit of  
1,000 results.  I've also found that BOSS can have significant  
performance lags.  Also, Yahoo! has announced that they will be moving  
BOSS to a fee structure based on the number of results you retrieve  
and the number of queries you submit.
