I am so glad to hear that worked for you :)

Yes! You will need to add your own CSE ID and API Key (I just used
Googles for the API playground as a default). Although the API Key is
no longer required you should still add one so Google has a way to
contact you if there are any issues or something changes that may
affect your app.

Looks like I missed  type="text/javascript" from that script element
also so I would suggest adding that too.
