Hi, Google just hosts the libs they don't make any changes to them or implement bug fixes, I would suggest reporting the issue to jquery.com

But does look like others have had issues with IE8 (why am I not surprised to hear issues with IE ;)) I don't use jquery (or IE) so unfortunately can't help you with debugging issues, but I would suggest checking their bug tracker for similar issues.
