Yes, you can cache translations in your database, but you'll need to carefully review the TOS, available at the link below, which limit the length of time that you can store that cache to 15 days. In other words, you will need to re-translate your site every 2 weeks. And, of course, make sure everyone knows that the translation was powered by Google.
