It is supported, but only in one direction.. If you translate from English to Japanese.. You type in "Yes", you will get both "はい" and "hai". Its just not documented.
I do NOT believe it is supported the other way.. You can NOT type in "hai" and get back "yes". But this is just fine for my purposes.
