When you check the pages from your hard disk, the API does not check the key. However, when you push it to your site and view it from there, it will. When that is done, an API key for http://www.colonie.org/library/ will work for www.colonie.org/library/xyz and www.colonie.org/library/pdq , but it won't work for www.colonie.org/abc . If you want to register a single key for both the search applications, you need to register it for http://www.colonie.org.
