Well, if your blog will allow you to output a feed of just search results for a given query, that would likely be the most efficient way to do what you're looking for. Otherwise, if the blog at least includes the tags/labels in its feed, you could get the full feed and then check the entries for those tags. To be honest, though, I wonder if you wouldn't be better served by the Blog Search API or even the new Custom Search API. Theoretically, you could restrict either of these to your blog and search for the keywords you're looking for.
