I am a solid user of YouTube API, whose TOS I fully understand and in
the same project I threw in a v1 translation feature. Because of v2
and other GData API's, I started lurking on this group and the more
that I lurk the more I am ending up being confused about the overall
all jigsaw puzzle of various API's and usage of medicine droppers to
dispense such minuscule doses of usage. With all due respect, I
believe that GOOG is approaching all of this in a totally confusing
manner.

If we step back a bit, all of the various API's TOS could be aligned
into a single TOS for all of the APIs. For example, I can not
remember even a single API that explicitly states that batch
processing is allowed and most go as far as to suggest that one's use
case just about must revolve around a real person's butt sitting in a
real chair. Youtube TOS state that advertising can not be present if
YT videos are the only or even predominant material. While this
issues become more vague for other API's, I would bet that it is
something that they look at when they evaluate our use cases in order
to give us a bit larger medicine dispenser.

GOOG, Please stop torturing us with gazillions of products, API's,
services and an equal number of TOS and registration keys. It is
about time that you came up with a SINGLE REGISTRATION KEY and a
single TERMS OF SERVICE for all of your API. It would not be all that
hard to do, so go ahead and to the right thing by making your suits
and your legal eagles earn their pay cheques.
