if you haven't found a solution yet, this is what you can do:
1. download the predefined style css and upload it somewhere on your
webspace
2. look for the search box code which refers to the style
(google.loader.themes.SHINY) and put in your own url like this:
google.load('search', '1', {language : 'de', style :
scr="http://www.yourdomain.com/SHINY.css"});
3. take a look at your live site with firebug and change the code as you
want
have fun
