Thanks for raising this issue. Just to clarify, as a standalone
script, this loads fine, right? It's only when combining that it
presents a problem?

My recommendation would be to change your combiner to inject a
semicolon (or newline) between merged JS files, if the first file
being merged doesn't end with either of a semicolon or a newline.
Seems like that would be a good addition to any JS combiner that will
address this issue for you and for any other JS resource that has been
minified such that it excludes a newline and a semicolon at the end.
