FetchGroups are documented at http://www.datanucleus.org/products/accessplatform_1_1/jdo/fetchgroup.html#dfg The xml metadata they show is generated by the @FetchGroup annotation which is documented at http://www.datanucleus.org/products/accessplatform_1_1/jdo/annotations.html#FetchGroup Strings and other basic java.lang types are in the default fetch group. User defined types need to be added to a user named fetch group (or may be added to the default group).
