Thanks for your response. I'm using jython 2.5.1 downloaded from jython.org, and using the demo modjy app provided with jython. I'm not modifying it in any way.
I can't find any other reports of this problem anywhere on the net - mystifying! Unfortunately I don't have another dev environment on which to try it.
