First off, BEST. SUBJECT. EVER. Can you see if the server was actually killed in the process manager? You shouldn't be able to rebuild the project since there will be a port conflict, but it's worth looking at.
Also, is there a reason you're using Ant and not the Eclipse plugin? That could make your life easier in the short term until you get used to the environment.
