There seems to be two kinds of URL identifiers to use with OpenID:
- URL identifiers without the username in them like: me.yahoo.com or https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id and - URL identifiers with the username in them like: myspace.com/username or username.myopenid.com Therefore the second kind of URLs require the page that offers an OpenID login to asked the user for an username while the first type of URLs does that once at the site of the OpenID provider. Reading the article User Experience summary for Federated Login I was wondering how to pass a username to a site that doesn't have a username in its URL.
