Thanks, Nichole. To fix the problem, I downgraded my version of JSTL to 1.1.2 and added the standard taglibs 1.1.2 library as well (which is what I have a compile-time dependency on). This seems to have solved the issue caused by the JSTL 1.2 vs. 1.1.x conflict. I should mention that I *am*still including JSTL 1.1.2 in my web app, but it doesn't appear to cause any issues.
