In GAE Java servlet environment doc, it's mentioned: "It uses both the Accept-Encoding and User-Agent request headers to determine if the client can reliably receive compressed responses. Custom clients can force content to be compressed by specifying both Accept-Encoding and User-Agent headers with a value of gzip". I found usually browser doesn't set "User-Agent" value, thus the responses is not compressed. Has anyone tried to force GAE to use gzip responses successfully? Thanks a lot.
