Maybe a silly question, maybe not :) I have close to 15 years of software development/architecture/ consulting experience, and recently started using the AppEngine SDK. I am really impressed - and very grateful that the great minds at Google provided something so cool and free to get started with! Cloud computing has such immense overhead to get into... its practically impossible to get running in the technology without tons of capital.
I am hoping to leverage the App Engine for some major projects - but need some enhancements to the 'core' engine. For example, implementing new languages... possibly allowing for other interfaces to the platform, other than standard web browser. I have no problem with Google re-selling or re-using things I could contribute, but my question is, is this an option yet? Are there any guidelines for submitting enhancements/new features that could possibly be incorporated into the App Engine by the open source / free community? (I could beg for features on this list but I'm much more the 'do it myself' type, and would like to give back to Google too - not just ask!)
