Hi Dylan, This is a feature request we are aware of, and certainly would like to support a solution for changing an app's authentication options. However, this is not something that is on our short term roadmap ( http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/roadmap.html). I imagine it would be worthwhile to create a new application with the desired authentication option set.
