Well I'm working on a project whose architecture is set in stone - it will involve mono client software, an iphone client, and all of this glued together by GAE. I'm not opposed to learning Python, its just that this project needs to get to beta absolutely ASAP, and I'm new to Objective-C. So far, Objective-C seems to be more or less agreeing with me, but it is definitely a bit weird compared to languages I know already. Python also falls into that category, and while learning more languages is always a good thing (and I have heard enough coders wax ecstatic about Python, and there's gotta be a reason for that), learning two languages that are both pretty different from those I already know will certainly delay that beta.
I suppose I could occupy myself until march with working on the mono and objective-c clients, but somehow "emulating" that GAE glue in order to do testing is going to be a giant pain in its own right. Also, I'm not sure just how much I should believe that "it'll be out by March" promise. Thanks for the words of advice!
